Using an equalizer for sidechain compressor processing
Other than for vocal de-essing, what other uses do folks have for an equalizer "side chained" into their compressors? I was thinking that it might help with the overheads/cymbals issue. I'm assuming you could probably use it for most instruments but with what "rule of thumb" settings?

For anyone (like me) that's been shopping for an EQ, this may be the ticket. I fiddled with it at A.E.S. and will wait until it arrives in the next few months.

EQUALIZERS. PT 5.x.x TDM Mix Systems

Following the same idea presented in my other post, now I would like to see your comments about
Equalizers. below, the list of "candidates":
1) bomb factory Pultec EQP1A
2) Focusrite d2/ d6 red collection
3) TC EQ SAT
4) Waves Q series, in this case Q6 to keep things in the same boat.

Universal Audio-500-A Equalizer
A friend of mine shot me the link to one of these on e-bay tonight hoping I'd know something, yet I had to say nay. Unit went reserve unmet at $500
did some research to no avail
anyone hear one before, and anything to get silly over?
