another thumbs up for hybrid

Another plug for hybrid!

Chris has been working on some older 2 mixes for me recently, and the differences are truly amazing.

I really do suggest that if you have digital stems or 2 mixes that you feel are "missing" something, that very "something" could be the analog summing that Chris has to offer, and you should definitely contact him to discuss your project. thumb

Recall and automation in a hybrid system.

I use logic and in a perfect world I know exactly how I want to recall mixes. I would be able to freeze tracks with an I/o plug on it and I'd be done. However logic doesn't do this.

I can't record on aux tracks so that rules making stems when I route tracks to buses. Bottom line you can only bounce 2 mono or 1 stereo track at a time when bouncing in real time.

Calibrating Meters in a hybrid studio

Forgive some basic questions but I would like to hear this being explained like I was just starting out.

I assume the analog gear I bought is calibrated correctly but matching the levels between all my analog equipment (converters, summing amps and processors) needs to be matched so everything flows openly and sounds the best is can. Yes and why?

Summing Schmumming: this is what "hybrid" is all about!

I was mastering a song the other day, and (as happens quite often) I found that the Drawmer 1969 in my rack didn't sound quite as good as a certain plugin compressor I ABed it against.
