iMac and Pro Logic 9 for recording? Help!

I have been using Cubase on a PC for recording/editing/mixing for the past few years and I have never gotten the quality results that I am looking for. For instance I always lose bass response and clarity when I import wavs. into Cubase and end up having to compensate by mixing up bass and treble to teh point that it sounds hissy and crappy.

Rain Element or iMac 27? need help!

Hey, my computer is kinda f****d, and I've decided it's time to upgrade to something roughly in the 'latest & greatest' category. I use a lot of CPU heavy stuff like kontakt so I need something with plenty of processor and ram under the hood. I've been a PC user for all of my musical life, but I have plenty of experience with macs, and to be honest I like both pretty much equally.

iMac, Macbook, Macbook Pro owners- Please Read

if you have an iMac and aren't aware or affected yet, there is a severe problem with the screens developing lines. it starts (of course) on the wrong side of the warranty, and has happened to thousands of iMac users. my big fat milky white block started about a week ago and from what i've read, this is only the beginning...

new latency issue with did002/imac/pod xt

Hi friends. Quick question with an issue thats DRIVING ME NUTS. Im using a pod xt guitar processor hooked up into the inputs of the digi002 and all the sudden now when i open an audio track and enable record there is a delay from guitar to the computer. In other words, when i play the guitar, you dont hear it come through the system until a brief moment after. Its not even a second.

Macbook Pro vs iMac??

I am buying a new computer which will be used exclusively for recording and I have narrowed it down to the 2.4 ghz, 15" macbook pro or the 2.4 ghz, 24" iMac. I already have a gateway laptop so portability isn't really an issue, but it would be nice. Which is the better machine? I am using logic 8 and wondering which computer will run it with the least latency.

Audio interface for an iMAC

Hello all,

I am looking for a simple solution to record acoustic guitar (perhaps a bit of electric too) though an iMAC (2.0 GHz processor with 1GB memory) using GarageBand. I’ve been playing for quite some time and just want a simple/inexpensive solution to capture my practice sessions.

I’d like to be able identify an audio interface to support the following:
