I recently bought a zoom R16. I used a Line6 toneport (UX2) before. I'm wondering if there is a way to daisy-chain them together so i can record 10 tracks simultaneously. I've spent most of the afternoon trying to figure out a way so I'm assuming it's not possible, but if anyone has any tricks please let me know. Thanks.

USBpre (unsure of brand)
Berhinger UCA202'
there was some Edirol stuff too

I need something for remote recording where I dont have access to many power outlets. Id like something where I can do some decent recording.. USB interfaces dont have a ton of options when it comes to self powered. Something like the EMU 0404 is NOT bus powered.

Any suggestions, something that has phantom power, a decent pre, and a decent headphone amp?

I'm also curious to how it sounds compared to a FireFace 800? Different animals but I wonder if its conversions are as good or better?

Just a quick one.
I want to record drums on Pro Tools on my laptop, but i need a mixer/interface that has 10 inputs (i have a large kit). I've been looking at a Mackie onyx 1620i which seems to suit what i need but i didn't want to spend that much.
any ideas for alternatives?

Could one hook up to a PC say 2 Saffires or other like interfaces for more inputs simultaneously ?

Not by linking them but separate firewire or usb connections to pc.

Or can 2 of the same be linked ?
I am only referring to the smaller type units less than 8 channels.

I play guitar and I want to record a cover album with a couple of mates for the summer holidays with piano, guitar, vocals and possibly drums and bass (recording individually). I am a complete newbie so all the information I have is from a couple of people from the guitar shop.

I have a couple of questions regarding interfaces:

First off, I realize there are a ton of these threads already but I couldn't seem to find exactly what I was looking for but I'm sorry if some of what I ask is unnecessary.

I've had a Line 6 toneport UX2 for about 2 years now, and I'm considering upgrading. I'm running Logic with A RODE NT1-a mic.

I am looking to get an interface, might get a used one. What do i need to pay attention to (parts) that might need to be replaced? or go out? How many hours of use before things may start breaking? I am looking into rme, MOTU traveler, 896. if anyone has experince wth those
