Newbie - Live recording
Forums
I'm 41 and I'm a newbie. (Crowd) HELLO NEWBIE!
Yea I'm a digital recording newbie anyway. The last time I recorded anything(1977) we hung two mikes by some wires from the roof into a small mixer and then into a 1 track stereo reel-2-reel. Did it sound good? No. Did it work? yes.

Live Recording Preamp Recommendation
Forums
Hey,
I run a small live recording company where I bring a Mackie HDR24/96 on site, bring a Mackie 1604 or use the house system, record with insert adapters or splitters, bring it back to the home studio, and mix it.

Mixer for live recording
Forums
What would be a class mixer for live recording? Portability is key. I shopped all the budget mixers and ended up getting an Allen and Heath 14:6:2, just because I had to have a temporary solution, wanted to be able to skip the EQ, and wanted to save my money for something class. What is there that sounds great and is permanent?

Live Recording - not in studio
Forums
I was just asked to go on tour & do live recording for a live record. I'm planning on using Pro Tools to capture the performances. I'm going to take feeds from the FOH board which is actually less than 22 feeds (with 4 audience mics). While is sounds simple enough, I've never done it. It is a world tour, so adapters/conveters are an issue too.
