What is your opinion of the Compression/EQ plugs that come stock with Logic? How do they compare with others, free and pay. Which ones do you tend to use for certain applications? Why?

hi i've been using logic express recently and i'm having problems with simple tasks that i could easily perform on Pro Tools, and i hate the users manual with a passion, does anyone know of a "Logic for Dummies" manual or something similar i can get my hands on.

Is it possible to use logic studio plugins and instruments with Digital Performer ?

This may be a bit specific for what this forum is for, so I'll apologize now if I'm posting in the wrong place.

I'm running into some output issues while trying to record my band. Here's the run-down:

I'm running a PreSonus FP10 to my MacBook with OS X 5.7.blahblah.blah, and when using GarageBand everything comes in and out fine, monitoring included.

So yea, not the best keyboardist in the world here -- can Logic Express 8 do on-the-fly quantization when I'm recording in regions? The clean-up work after a take is a bit tedious, though I must admit that it's got me thinking about all of the soul and flavor that a region-wide quantization strips out of a take.

Hey there. I need some help. I just installed a new project hard drive into my mac pro and transferred my project data from the system HD to the new hd. Now I have noticed that my projects drums have moved out of sync with the grid. What could be wrong... Pls help, I'm getting tired of logics bugs. Thanks in advance. Ps: is there perhaps a link to optimize logic 8 for mac pro 8 core.

I've been trying to get a this Tascam interface to work for a while now, and not having much luck.

It will record onto a digital audio track in Logic, but the latency (delay) is terrible and unusable. (both the recording and the monitoring)

we have 2 Yamaha 02r's linked,48 channels of analog (mainly used as a big keyboard sub mixer). we want to get that audio into the mac so we can see it digitally in logic.
also,we have an old pro tools system in this mac and don't want to get rid of it just yet. how do we get the analog data into the mac so it shows up in our daw cheaply? all good advice is welcomed.

As I understand it, Logic node allows you to spread the processing power of plugins and such over other mac's scattered throughout a studio.

Theoretically, could one on a shoe-string budget take a few old cheap PC's and have them take over this role?
