I have been mixing on a decent Logitech 2.1 system. I know, I know that is not real practical, so I have decided to get a decent set of entry level studio monitors. I am only on a $300 dollar budget so my choices are very limited. Also, I do not have any local music shops so I cannot go demo speakers so I am really relying on online reviews and forums.

I'm very new to recording. I want to know how to mix a rhythm guitar and a solo together? Do I use mono or stereo? Do I process the sound of one of the guitars in one ear? Any insight would be appreciated.

I need help deteriminig the best mix position for a room that will be a mix/live room used for Guitars, Vocals, Bass (DI Box) and Keys. Drums will be recorded sporadically on an infrequent basis.
I am in the on-stage engineer for my band and all our live instruments go through an fully automated submixer linked into Abelton Live where they have been optimally mixed for each song.

For me personally I was pretty happy with the results. Sounded good on the monitors, sounded good in the car, sounded good on headphones.
Hi everyone . I was just wondering if it's a bad idea to control the mix with the Master Fader in Cubase . I read somewhere that your supposed to always leave it at 0 Db, and mix within those parameters.

I need work. Plainly stated. Granted, my studio is not my main bread-winner (and at this point I'm thankful for that), but I'm REALLY out there marketing but I'm not getting any bites. I've invested a ton of capital in my studio, not to mention the time I spend in my control room every night trying different things. At this point, I'm beginning to question the probability of success.

Just got my fist piece of hardware a FMR RNC compressor.
I use Adobe Audition 1.5 and have M-Audio 1010LT sound card.
I have started to get my head around the sound cards routeing options.
So hears my problem I have my RNC doing what i want on say my vocal track and i am ready to mix down to a stereo file.
