I've been shopping monitors, and have basically decided to get Yamaha MSP5's. I don't want to debate this, or comparisons to other brands. I like what I like, and you may disagree.

okay then, which of these do you think is the most truthfull set of active monitors in the $300 to $700 range?

how do I hook up 2 computer screen monitors? My midi controller is on one wall, and my computer is on another wall, I would like to have a monitor on both walls, even if everything on both screens are the same, what are my options? is there a way to split the monitor cable? what do I need? adapters? thanks!

I'm interested in purchasing a pair of reference monitors (my budget is around $300-350 US). I'd like to know what are some good CDs or sounds to use to do a comparison test and what are some important things to listen for during the comparison.

btw, I'm considering between ESI nEar05 eXperience and KRK Rokit Powered 5 (RP5).

Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

I have searched everywhere on the net for a review of the P22a and i can't find one. i have been mixing with Adam P11a for the last few months and i really like them. i going to invest in monitors myself and i am curious has anyone mixed with both these.

The P11a could do with a bit more bass definition i feel, just wondering if the P22a does this.

so i went into guitar center looking for monitors. i was about to resign myself to ordering the Wharfedale 8.2's or buying the KRK Rokit 8's or the M-Audio BX8a monitors they had up there. Then i got a listen to the Yamaha hs80m speakers they had just gotten in.

Is it just me or are these things really friggin' good?

Which monitors would you recommend for a budgeted user but will do a good job in mixing?

and what are the differences between powered and unpowered monitors?

I have a Yamaha MSP5A monitor.. that's what the salesman suggested me to get for mixing ... but I found out the bass is too strong and i don't quite like it... it's kinda annoying...

I've been tracking/mixing with Alesis Monitor Ones/RA100 for a few years, and I'm tired of the less than stellar reproduction.
Does anyone consider KRK V8's be a step up?
I mix folk/rock/pop etc. on Cubase/Wavelab with a Delta 66 card.
