Testing Placement of RODE NT5's with the Guzheng (Chinese Zither)
Just starting using a pair of RODE NT5's with directional capsules to record the guzheng. After some experimenting with positions, I've settled on both overhead, one on each side, about 3ft from the instrument. I've added no effects to this recording other than a compressor. What do you think?
Mic placement : your first EQ (video)
Hi my friends,
I've put up a new video which I think may benefit RO members.

HELP! Best Mic Placement for an Acoustic Guitar
Hi everyone,
mic placement for recording an orchestra
I am planning on recording a school orchestra recital and need some help deciding on a microphone setup. I've done live sound for decades, but have done practically nothing relating to orchestral recordings. I also have a limited selection of microphones to choose from. The end result will be a stereo audio track to mix with video from multiple cameras for a concert/recital video.

Mic placement on a Cocktail set kick drum?
I have a cocktail drum kit, with a tall, 15" barrel drum that stands upright and serves both as the kick and the floor tom. It has small air holes, but no mic port. The kit sounds great, and I can get a solid one-mic recording from it without problems. But I need to do some multi-mic setups, and wanted some informed opinions about recording the kick.

Bass amp mic placment
Just as the title says, what is the best angle and distance?
I've tried quite a few variations, but I still get a way too "fuzzy" sound to make it comfortable.
