Separate tracks on a mixer?

Hey forum!
So I was wondering something here. .now, I'm pretty sure I've heard you can't do it, but I REALLY need to make sure before I go out and spend all that cash!
I'm recording mainly drums, but also some band stuff, and I wondering if it's possible to record each mic on a separate track, going straight from the mixer to the computer.
If not, do I need to:

Hey all, I'm looking to replace my 16 channel mixer in my home studio. Just looking to bounce some ideas off of you guys and see if there might be even better options. My current board is starting to have some issues and I have every in utalized. Currently I'm looking at 3 different board in the price range I'd like to stick around ($600 to $800 but could push up if I needed).

Please help this Newbie to Nuendo. I'll be more than happy to clarify anything I've left out or misrepresented to try to understand better. I've played guitar for nearly 50yrs and messed with sound reinforcement and anaolg recording during that time a lot, but been away from it due to day job for many years.

New Mixer?

Hey forum!
I just got a new mixer: DOD 820 RM Mixer. When I say new, I mean "new"...I bought it used. It DOES work. I know this because the light is on, and the phantom power light and everything is on, but I can't seem to figure out how to work it...when I plugin a mic, no lights go on, even when I move the corresponding knobs.

Hey everyone I have a question and would like some opinions and thoughts on the idea. Since I've started my music production career,my studio has been mixer less, but now I'm looking to replace my M-Audio 2626 Audio Interface and a few PreSonus Studio Channels with 2 daisy chained PreSonus StudioLive 16.4.2 Digital Mixer's.
