I'm looking for a compatible device to work with my logic pro 9 so it can sync to my Tascam TSR-8.

i need something that will stripe smpte onto tape, then read and convert Smpte into MTC for DAW and Tape Sync.

MIDI time code (MTC), or MIDI time division, embeds the same timing information as standard SMPTE time code as a series of small 'quarter-frame' MIDI messages.

Heres the scenario: I am trying to transfer 8 tracks of analog (one with SMPTE) into my computer using a SMPTE to MTC (JL Cooper) box into a Midi to USB cable (sync) through a pair of nice converters. This forces me to dump tracks two at a time and line them up by hand in PT.

I need a batch program that can batch from an EDL list or OMFI.

Q1.I have an EDL/OMFI and Tascam DA-88. I need to batch the sound from the DA-88 into my computer using the Omfi file or the edl list, and save it as an OMFI file.

Q2.I have heard that you can get a converter that converts the serial port to a 9 pin remote. It is called Rosetta Stone. Do you know of any others?

Which one of you brilliant MIDI geeks/gurus knows the answer to this?

The setup - keyboard with internal sequencer, mac running Digital Performer, Midi Express XT, ADATs with BRC, and me with a shot of single malt standing there with too many manuals scratching my head.
