cables we never think about...

Okay. So normally when I am recording on location I am the master of redundancy and backup recording (duh). Two nights ago I went to record my wife's high school orchestra holiday concert with of course narrator for a Dickens Christmas story/arrangement. First off, I didn't roll out the HD24XR and I didn't bring my usual trust flash recorder either.

Neve 1073 Clone Preamps

Started thinking about the various Neve 1073 inspired preamps out there and decided to start a list to compare. Now, I guess any transformer-based preamp is "inspired" by the 1073, but I just started a list of current production models available in the US that have some direct connection to the 1073. In the notes, "clone eq" means an eq that closely resembles the 1073.

Channel faders should never be higher than master fader or vice versa?

Ok dumb noob question I know...but Ive only been taking mixing seriously for a little less than a year.

Anyhow, I didn't even really think that it mattered. But I remembered reading SOMEWHERE that u NEVER have the master fader higher than the channel faders. or was it VICE VERSA?
