i have a 160gig seagate firewire hard drive (obviously from the topic), and i have been recording to it for a year with no problems. at 16 bit 44.4 khz Using logic by the way. i recently started recording at 88.8 khz and it worked fine for about 5 "takes" each about 10-30 minutes from band practice. now all the sudden i get this error when i try and record to it.

sidechain gate in Cubase ?

Ok i want to achieve that : "heres a kick trick, run a 50 hz. oscillator tone thru a gate, with the kick going into the sidechain (key input ) of the gate and dial it up so the kick triggers the gate to open and pass the oscillator signal "
i ve got my kick track, and my 50 hz sine track, but i cant figure out how to do a sidechain in Cubase anyhelp?

thx

PreSonus Noise Gates?

My Drawmer noise gate finally crapped out on me after quite awhile of reliable use. (I bought it used anyway so who knows how much time it had on it with the previous owner). I'm planning to replace our studio with another Drawmer gate as I definitely think they make the best workhorse noise gates (I like the Aphex gates also...dont like the lack of a meter on the Aphex though). .

Noise Gates on Compressed Vocals

Forums

I am in the middle of mixing a recording session and have a vocal track that is good and I have added some compression on the track. The singer lets out a couple of heavy breaths and also is stomping a bit on the floor with his foot through out the track, needless to say when I compress for the vocal sound I want these levels are brought up. This is only real noticable when the track is solo.
