Recording Orchestras

Recording Orchestras So after some hard thought, I think this is something I am going to aI'm to get into.
I may be able to get my foot in the door at CBC studios in Toronto, but I also would like to freelance.
I figure I should be able to find a few choirs or orchestras around the city that need archival work done.
so this leads me to the equipment I will be needing.

MICROPHONE FOR RECORDING OF SYMPHONY ORCHESTRAS?

Forums

Greetings! I am a professional conductor who wants to get decent recordings of the orchestras I conduct when travelling. I had an Audio-Technica AT822 and a Sony DAT walkman, which did pretty well. I have replaced the SONY with a Korg MR1 and the microphone, unfortunately, was lost during travels.

Not sure where this goes: Orchestra synthisizer equipment

Hello hello. Just registered here to finally get guidance on something Ive always wanted to do.

What good equipment or programs are out there under $700.00 that can produce good strings, symphony, orchestra sounds?

I mainly play guitar (8 years), but Ive always loved the ambient symphonic (real word?) stuff.

Help! Recording Pit Orchestra

I am new so be gentle. I am involved in a performance of an original musical and we are making a DVD of the performance. We will be in a 1000 seat theatre and my main question is about recording the pit band. I think the band will be loud enough for performances so the only microphones needed will be for recording purposes.
