Cardioid ribbons in ORTF?
I'm wondering if anyone has had success with using cardioid pattern ribbon microphones as a main pair for choir and what mics they were.

Pseudo ORTF question?
Hi guys
There is actually a question at the end for those who don't get too bored
I bought one of those little bars that allows you to put two mics on one stand. I happen to have HM-1's, so the way the holders are I can place the mics anywhere from 3" apart to 10" apart, which is cool. I place mine about 7" apart, like an ORTF array.

ORTF details?
How picky does one have to be about the exact angle, and distance between capsules when using ORTF?
If 'very picky,' why?
What works best, cardioid, hypercardioid, or omni?
Cheers
Keith

ORTF w/ Beyer M160's
Would it be acceptable to use two Beyer M160's in an ORTRF configuration to record a small guitar group or chamber group? This is the only matched set of mics I have and was wondering if they would be completely useless in this environment. I am saving for a set of Schoeps but it will be some time before that money gets saved up.

What Else with ORTF
Found a great bar to set up ORTF, but was wondering what else you would think about for an orchestra recording. M/S between the two? Highly directional SDC aimed at the conductor? Maybe a couple of dancing girls? (just kidding. kinda)
