I recently received an SM57 and an M-Audio Fast Track which connects to my laptop via USB (and is thus powered through this connection). The Fast Track has a headphone jack on it with which I can hear either the laptop audio output or what I'm recording live, depending on the mixer knob setting.

Ok, we are trying to record clips of our band live with this

anyway we were trying to test it at home running keyboard lines to it (4, but weve had the same problem with 8 or 1 or whatever).

Whenever we try to record anything with it, it records for a few seconds (usually 2-12) and then it stops recording. then the bar continues (but it does not resume recording).

Anyone know why Adobe Audition will not allow me to select inputs 3-16 on my Tascam US-1641. I have set up the new Tascam unit but when I try to view my input selection in Audition, it only shows the Tascam unit as a whole. I can record using channels 1 and 2, and it will play back on the monitor outputs, but nothing else.

I just picked up an old Yamaha MIDI foot controller that I wanted to use with Ableton, but whenever I try to map an Ableton control to any of the buttons, they all come up as "pitchbend" as if each button is sending the exact same midi message. Nothing happens when I press a button I mapped either, despite Ableton still seeing the activity and allowing it to be mapped.
