Replying to another item on this list reminded me that although I mostly have really GREAT interns I have also had my share of duds.

I guess you could subtitle this as what NOT to do as an intern. The following is some words of advice I have had to give certain interns over the years.

I'm trying to record some guitar stuff to my computer. My setup is Guitar =>digitech rp200 effets pedal => line in of sound card. When I record the first 3 seconds of the track sounds great and then the volume drops to about half and the sound becomes muddy, sounds like your playing under water.

Hello,

I am a beginner on recording. I bought a Behringer UB802 for basic mixing, I tryed to record my voice to the computer with Phantom powered microphone, but I am having a lot of deep noise.
Even if I unplug the microphone and everything it's still there.
if I volume up the mixer it's getting really bad.

Hello ?

How are you doing? Can I ask you a question about how to set up the pan during audio recording. I'm more a composer then a engineer and I'm having some problems to setup some new gear. Somehow I'm loosing sound in the centre of the sound spectrum.

Can you tell me of my sound-chain is setup right for panning.

As I posted in a different post in this section I am doing a radio show and the star of that show is a 1928 Wurlitzer Pipe organ. The organ console sits in a hall and all the pipes are located in the basement. The sound arrives at the hall though grates in the floor of the hall (2.5 feet wide and about 20 feet long) .

Hey everybody. I'm having some problems with my home studio, and need some help. When I try to open Cubase SX, it tests for my hardware, and it says "The test was not succesful. The current setup did not produce reliable sync information." Does anybody know how to fix this?
