How to Record a Live performance outdoor with NO mixer
Hi All, i'm Leo, musician for passion for years but quite newbie when it comes to recording/mixing.
my question is: if i need to record a small performance live outdoor, let's say a rooftop of a house, what's the easiest way to do it in order to get a decent audio track out of it?
Live Performance
Hey guys,
We went and watched a friend who plays drums in a Queen tribute band last year and after a few
drinks on the way home in the car my wife suggested we do an Aretha show, almost 6 mnths later
we did our first go at it .
Lots of learning curves, The outfit choices etc . but overall we had a blast .

Have You Ever Wondered: Would Love Mix and Compositional Feedback (performance too).

Artistic Approach - what I don't like in a performance
We come from everywhere with all kinds of influences.
Why not discussing what we don't like to hear and why we don't like it.
For one, I don't like long bending in vocal performances, I feel they are out of tune too long for my tastes and I also don't really like fast vibrato sounding like a sheep ! ;)
Great performances and productions
Now that's what I'm talking about ;

Micing Live Performance of Sax Quartet
I have a sax quartet and need to record our performances for some QC. The music we play are jazz standards and the arrangements have a lot going on in the inner voices. We need to be able to listen to our performances to check out how we balance on set vs in rehearsal. Our set up is usually in a V. I am unable to place a mic stand in front of the group past the front music stands.

Silent PC's... Laptop vs. desktop... performance vs. silence... strategies?
Currently I'm recording on my 2007 vintage laptop. It was smokin' fast and powerful in 2007 and I have no issues with performance as far as recording goes with it now -- but it's very loud as it has two internal fans that I cannot turn off.
Performance vs. gear vs. skills, once and for all !
I didn't want to step on anybody's thread but I just read one on which someone said ; gear doesn't make good recording, performance does.
I just have enough of those 'What's the most important thing' threads.
So lets just discuss it once and stop the future arguments!
Live Acoustic Performance
Hi everyone,
I'm brand new to this forum after stumbling upon it during a routine Google search.
I have been using Pro Tools for about 5 years, pretty much self taught with some guidance from friends who attended Full Sail and whom I went to music school with. The internet has also been a great resource.
