Proably Noob Question: Phasing with 3 mics recording congas
I've been recording a set of congas with 2 matched dynamic mics X-Y and then a 3rd PZM mic 5 feet away mounted on a wall.
When I listen to the X-Y pair they sound fine. When I listen to the PZM room mic it sounds fine.
Can't correct cymbals phasing issue
I'm trying to restore some old tracks that i transferred from years ago into Cubase5. Does anyone know how I can repair really bad phasing issues on just the cymbals? I only have 2 drum tracks to work with (a kick & overhead). I isolated every other part of the drum on different tracks to sound good.

Phasing Issue
Hi Guys,
I've just installed 2 patchbays into my studio and I'm having some issues.
I have 1x MOTU 24 i/o
2x Behringer Ultrapatch Pro
1x Aphex Aural Exciter Type C2 with Big Bottom
The patch which is causing the trouble is 1&2 OUT from the MOTU, into the Exciter via the patchbaythen back the board via the patchbay.

How is this wide white noise made without ANY phasing at all it seems?
Here is an example of a wide white noise effect used in a track which seems to have no phase cancellation whatsoever. If you mono the sample the white noise shows zero phasing and sounds exactly the same in mono. Any idea's on how the hell this is done? All my attempts and techniques have left me with big wide sounds but with slight phasing.
Vocal phasing
if someone could point me in the direction of where i could read about and fix vocal phasing that would be great!
thanks!

Mic phasing questions.
I'm not certain I'm even asking this correctly, but if/when a mic is used alone, by default, is it in or out of phase? Or is that even a valid question?

phasing issues
I've set up a spare bedroom for recording electric guitar. I'm playing thru a Hughes and Kettner Switchblade 100W combo. I'm using a 3 mic technique. The first is a dynamic SM-57 placed about an inch from the grill cloth, midway between the center cone and the outer edge, pointing straight to the speaker.

Phasing and not knowing
Can one have an issue with phasing (such as phase cancelation) and be unaware of it ?
Does phase cancelation create any sort of added color to the sound which makes it detectable or is it a pure and clean reduction in gain ?
If the later is true, how can we tell we a phase cancelation problem ?
