Here's my deal..
- I'm finally upgrading my DAW setup after 5 years of using two PreSonus Firepods
- Interface and converter wise I'm planning on a Apogee Ensemble, thoughts?
- I'll be recording "Rock" music mainly (Drums, Guitar, Bass, Vocals, Keyboard)
- I'm looking to 8 professional preamps

Ok so I bought a brand new M-Audio MobilePreamp. I've used the same model in school.

I currently run an MFA Magus C preamp, modified and hot rodded by the designer, Scott Frankland. I am the original owner, use it at least a couple of hours every day, and love the sound.

I'm toying with the idea of replacing the tubes: 2x 12AX7, 1x 12AT7, 1x 6DJ8.

Okay, so I'm sort of a newbie to recording. I have a background in live sound, and understand the basics and more. But as I begin to slowly assemble a "studio" of sorts, I've come across a question that I, regardless of hours worth of research, still cannot draw a clear answer to.

I just bought an RCA 12AU7A tube to replace the one in my dbx 367 which gave up.

It doesn't work. No audio being passed or metered. I checked connections.

Is this a wrong tube for the dbx367?

2 simple questions

(I'm posting this for a friend)...

"I purchased a new VocoPro VHF-3300 wireless mics.

Would like to connect it to my stereo system to to have a faux karaoke for our living room so that mu wife and I can practice a little singing together.

The problem is of course the mics have 1/4” male plug and the stereo system has 1/8” female plugs.

So i got a touch question for the pros

I want to upgrade my current setup that I have ( at3035 mic, m-audio firewire solo )

I am probably going to get the SM7B mic but my question isn't with mics

I want to spend less than $800

I want a good preamp or audio device

I plan on upgrading my mic to the SM7B but I am using a RME Babyface or the Duet2

What is your suggestion on what I should get?

I mainly do youtube commentaries and rap.
