DIFFERENT ISSUE

:) Hi all! Just preparing for the inevitable, I have a RAID storage system with hot swap type drives. The system sees the whole drive as D, storage, in a network. If one fails, how can I quickly determine the lost content?

I currently get about 45 24 bit tracks with IDE ata100 HDD and logic 5.5.

Will going raid 0 with 2 ata100 IDE's double or increase my track count?
or will I need more drives to achieve this?

Ok...last night I was trying to set up my XP machine with the OS and App drive(Western Digital 20GB) on the IDE 1 position as master and two Maxtor 40GB drives on IDE 2 as a striped RAID 0 array...now, if I disconnect the two Maxtor drives and do the XP setup it sees the WD drive..if I try it WITH the two Maxtors setup as a RAID or as independent disks XP won't see any hard drives. huh?

I'm confused about using raid with audio files.I'm told that it is best to store program files on on hard drive and audio files on another.Using a raid controller the audio files will be split on both hard drives and what if I want to store video files as well?
Can some pro please enlighten my limited know-how
