This Saturday my band is playing live for a concert. There is 1 drummer (electronic kit), 1 bass, 1 electric guitar, 1 keyboard and 2 vocalists. I'd like to record a multitrack performance but I'm unsure how to properly do that.

Is there a consensus or short list on the best microphones for Micing amp cabinets during a live recording session in a noisy venue ? Also, the same for vocals ? Consider these will not be in the PA. They will be sent via snake straight to my recording interface and captured on computer HD.

I was just wondering what the other members do around here with their studios. Do you record your own projects and play all your instruments (this could include borrowing a friend), record for your band, or record professionally for clients. I thought this might be and interesting thread.

This is my first post on this forum, or any music recording forum for that matter, and I was wondering what would a good price be to charge for bands to record their music in a studio and for me to mix it? I am very interested in sound and music engineering/producing and I think that this could be a good start. Thank you!
