Soundcraft fx 8 or fx 16 for my Otari 8 track reel to reel?

Hi all, I have finally narrowed down the tpe of mixer that I want to purchase. THe only problem I have now is deciding whether I need to 8 channel Soundcraft fx 8 or the Soundcraft 16 channel fx 16 for my 8 track Otari reel to reel. I am mainly concerned with the ability or inability to record and monitor on the 8 channel board.

Okay I have defected... I Want a Reel to Reel

Let me start out by saying that I studied the (cheap) digital market cards for under $500 for about a year before almost buying one. I first bought Mic, then Preamp, and then heard a lot of recordings done on these magic cards Echo audio and Midi-Man pushes on the market. I WAS not impressed!

Good two track reel-to-reel machines for mixdown

'Now one thing I am considering doing is buying a good 1/2" two-track for mixdowns to take to the mastering house. Anyone have any opinions on this? The idea is that I would do all my tracking at 24/96 and mix down to the two-track analog deck.'
