I know nothing about audio recording, so please forgive my ignorance if this question is, from a professional's perspective, rather dumb. I'm here because this is where the pros are, and thank you for your consideration and any answers you might offer.

I'm doing research on remastering to vinyl. As some of you know, I'm investing in analog gear and hybrid summing and now looking into digital to vinyl remastering as a fun side line. If you are doing this, I would love to hear from you. Here is an example of what I am talking about:

Could someone please help me with remastering my music? I am new to this industry and i would really appreciate if someone could help me remaster my stuff. I can send you the audio files via email. The tracks are all mixed and recorded and just need to be remastered. Please note that i'm only 16 years old and take classes on sound engineering and am going to college to be a sound engineer.

I have some very old classic vinyl recording recording at a famous Jamaican studio called Studio One. They already mastered but a very long time ago and lack luster and punch.

I would like to use the Waves C4 to put some punch into the recordings as they seem very light especially the bass.

Is it best to use the upward compressor or the upward expander or simple EQ the mix

Have any of you bought them? Heard them in a good environment? Read any reviews that you trust?

I heard a nasty rumor that the new releases are going to be overly hot. I sure hope not. That would ruin the sound of those old recordings. Anyone in the know about this?
