I found this video about Audient preamps.
It's interesting and well done but when I heard the diffence between the RAW and mixed sound I just jumped and thought the snare was replaced or enhanced with samples... What do you think ?

Sad news! Just upgraded Mac OS to Sierra from Snow Leopard, then PreSonus Firepod that served me right these years doesn't supported anymore (over latest OS).
So, I'm looking for a replacement, whether Audio Interface OR USB Mixer! I'm here to seeking your precious suggestions, opinions even advices!
Ever since I have had them, I've realised they're a bit like Marmite - people love them or hate them, but I have realy liked mine, however, I sold them before christmas to an enthusiast, and I'd like to replace them. Trouble is, I really don't know what to buy.

Affordable and good sounding (dreaming here ;))
They are both mk1 and were buildt around the same year but actually don't sound the same.
I guess they have different tubes or different wear on them.
Any suggestions ?

for years i've used three JBL 4412 speakers across the front and two JBL 4410's for surround. i've always been very happy with this setup. now, however, i'm in a slightly smaller space and can't position the 4410's correctly for surround. there just isn't enough wall space for a proper mounting. i need something a bit smaller.
from what i gathered searching this site the tesla ec (forget model #) seems to be what i'm looking for, just wondering if anyone has some general suggestions/links as to the tonal tendencies of different preamp tubes.
hey all, i use the 163x in my bass rig, and when my buddy put my rack in the car's backseat, he closed the door w/ two of the racks' power wires (unknowningly) dangling out. Oblivious to this, i drove home on the highway w/ my head (svt-3pro), and compressor's power cables dragging.
Crappity crap, crap crap.
For the last time, my Frontier Tango 24 has over-heated. I can't complain--it's worked fine as a front end for my RME card for 10 years. But as the years have gone by it's now happening every few months.
So... to refresh, it's 24 bit/48khz. 8 in A/D and 8 out D/A. Selectable +10/-4 on each channel. Word clock sync. That's about it.
Anybody else have the M-Audio Q40 headphones? I'm fairly happy with the sound quality, but they are really tight on the head and actually hurt/ irritate after a short while. Any other headphone recommendations within their price range that are comfortable ($150)?
