Looking for suggestions on recording software for mac

Hi there!

I'm used to working with Nuendo for PC. There are a couple of things I really like about it, but I'm now working on a Mac workstation and am looking for some good mac recording software. The main thing I like about Nuendo that I don't see elsewhere is the ability to do multiple takes on a single track, and crossfade between them really easily. Any mac software do this?

Getting a better drum machine/software drum sound?

So, I've got the tough problem of not liking the sound I get out of software drum machines. I'm trying to get a nice studio drum sound for rock music. Usually, with this type of set up, the drums sound way too fake and leave me cringing. I've tried a few different programs but haven't really found one I've liked.

Best Amp Software or Preamp?

I own Guitar Rig 3 and Amplitube. Not satisfied with any of the sounds. Ive also built a dummy load box so i can run a line from my Orange heads into a 4x12 simulator and then into my interface for silent recording... And still not happy haha.

So.. Is there any other programs or Preamps you guys would suggest? Ive looked at the ENGL and Mesa Recording preamps.

audio interface, software explained

So I recently purchased a PreSonus Firebox with the Cubase LE 4 that comes with it.

But when I go into the device setup in Cubase, it asks for an output...

I thought the output was the firewire connection from the computer to the audio interface...

Whenever I try to record, no sound comes through...

Is there something I'm missing here?

What Software Do You Recommend For Basic Line In/Midi Rec.?

I want to put together some easy demos using straight line in recording of guitar and using different effects/patches to get the sound of the guitar, kind of like a Garageband setup even. I don't have a Mac and have a Firepod from my old band which I intend on using as my AI.
