I would like to find the notation/midi sequencing software of my dreams. I've been a Cakewalk user for quite some time, but their "staff view" doesn't do what I would want my dream software to do. Does anyone know of a notation/sequencing package that will notate/play midi in much the same fashion as sheet music is written (and performed)? What I mean is the ability to:

I heard about an application that can "learn" your outboard gear, and then you can control the parameters, switch programs, settings, etc. using this application to control your gear thru MIDI... does anyone knows what I'm talking about? I could be wrong...

I have a TDM8000 desk which I love and am running the automation software on a PC which works great. My question is...do you know if anyone at all, anywhere in the world is writing any software updates for this? The PC version seems to have less features than the Mac version and it would be cool to get an update :) I have version 1.1

Ive never used a computer for any audio application and i like to try without getting in to deep.

i have enjoyed your posts on RAP for years. i am curious, do you regularly use any editing software (not a splicing block and a razor :-) ) if so what do you use ?

Hello everyone I have a question? What's the big deal over multi-track recording software regarding professional use. I've heard songs from many people that used CakeWalk Pro9, Cubase Vst, Logic, and even Pro Tools and most of the stuff I hear sound really good as far as sonic & professional quality. I think a lot people get hung up on software names instead of its performance and quality.
