I Have Sonar7 and the Akai MPK49. I need help setting this thing up. This is my first real Midi controller and its putting a big cramp in my music making. PLEASE HELP!

So I am trying to set my friend up with a little home setup. He has a M-Audio fast track pro running into Sonar home studio.

Anyone using The MPK49 with Sonar 5. This is my first MIDI controller and am over my head a little bit. :?

I am running Windows XP Media Center /w SP2.

I have a Seasound Soloist installed, with what I thought the correct drivers. I cannot get any input or output through Sonar with the Soloist. I have MIDI in and out through a usb keyboard controller.

1st post. .Ok I have a in-house budget studio I built basically for recording vocals from local artists over tracks. I have a MXL-990 mic, ART Tube MP Studio preamp, and Sonar 6 producer with patch (to work with Vista). All was fine until I upgraded to Vista.

So I had my project in Sonar all spruced up, saved, and ready to export. I save a quick .wav to my SD card to play through another medium to check my mixing, saved one last time, and closed down Sonar because I wouldn't be back anytime soon.

When I finally returned, I re-opened the project to make some minor adjustments and came across a major problem.

When i mix down In Sonar 6 PE my final Mix down tone goes up and down. on play back thru Sonar everything sounds great. i'm mixing 26 tracks of audio with effects (eq, reverb, etc) down to a wave file. i think it is my processor but the indicator shows 20% cpu usage and 10 hard disk. i run a amd sempron 2800 with 2 gigs of ram my audio from guitar and bass record fine

I have a Yamaha clavinova clp-240 digital piano, and I can usually just turn it on, turn up the volume, and play.

Now, i have to fire up my computer, open sonar6, arm a midi track, and THEN it will let me hear sound from my piano.

Everytime i shut off sonar, it disables sound from my piano!
