Need a decent compact stereo mixer. Any suggestions?

Hi there,

Last two weeks I have been surfing the net in search of a compact stereo mixer for recording (mainly classical music). But I can't seem to find what I need.

I am looking for a compact desktop model like a Mackie 1202-VLZ3, but since I already have some good mic preamps I actually don't need a mixer with built-in preamps. So a stereo line mixer would do.

Samson Stereo DI

Anyone have experience of this or any other stereo DI (not 2 channel, stereo)

Problem is that the damn thing won't output anything and has no indicator to suggest the phantom is on. I have a guitar in the L channel but nothing in the right. Both XLRs are wired to the snake and regardless of whether Phantom was on on the L, or L+R, I get nothing.

Newb help w/set-up ~ BR-1600 to Desktop by/to Stereo ~ [ ? ]

Hello all – I'm making this thread here in hopes of finding a bit of guidance, gaining some insight from others with knowledge about what I’m trying to do, and whatever else I may need to know.

 What I would specifically like to do, is put together a solid set-up with some combination of gear I have to use:

Stereo mix not showing up on Vista + mic hiss problem

I have Windows Vista and I tried recording from the stereo mix on Audacity and fruity loops. I tried looking around different websites and none of them have seem to have found a solution to my problem. I right clicked the volume icon and selected recording devices then I right clicked and selected "Show disconnected and disabled devices" still nothing shows up except the microphone. :(
