Recording drums: mono vs. . stereo

hi i was wondering if u can help a newbie like me in recording drums. my question is I'm looking to make a dance song i know kick drum, bass, snare should be mono when recorded but I'm clueless about toms, hi-hats, and crash cymbals should they be recorded mono or stereo. if I'm right at the final mix down the whole drum kit should be stereo correct me if I'm wrong.

Looking for small stereo mics for MD recording.

Hey guys!

Just got myself a new portable MD recorder. One of the reasons was also to do some basic field recording. What I would like is a fairly decent microphone, to do some quality recordings. Looking at a budget of $100. (but if it's REALLY good, I might stretch it)

After some research I found the following main options:

Nitrous and stereo linking compression

Hi. I have been salivating over the new compressor that you guys make called Nitrous. Am I to understand that two Nitrous can be connected togethr to make a stereo Nitrous for two channel linking compression?
If so, could you please explain in lay terms how this is done?
What I want to know is which one becomes the master? .Or is the compressing taken from both sides?

Monotosis or Stereosis

My question for everyone w/ any experience (opinions) When you mix a song in a DAW do you keep the tracks mono or create stereo single tracks? I have been mixing w/ all stereo tracks by creating stereo image wave files. So basically I go through all the tracks of the song make them stereo mixdowns and some light processing.
