Tascam DV-RA1000 V.S studer D730 V.S EMT 986 V.S Sony 3100/D500 V.S Denon DN951-FA V.S marantz PMD 340

Which one is better for playback CD in term of produce accurate,musical and lively sound?

I have to choose between the version with and without harddisk. Obviously the one with harddisk is far more convenient. But since this unit will be sitting right next to me I would like to know 2 things before choosing it:
1. Does the harddisk spin down and become completely silent when not in use?

Does anybody know why is it appearing " C BIT IS DIFFERENT FROM THE SETTING" on the screen of DV-RA 1000?
It`s look like connection between ADC (from Focusrite TT pro) and DV-RA is OK. The sound is good and it seems like everything is perfect but anyway warning is appearing when is switching on.
1. Connection is S/PDIF via RCA.
