Best Mic for Toms?
Hi friends of Recording.org
Ok, I know that this theme is old, but while I read yours comments in the Forum more dudes I have about the best mics for Toms.
Kurt prefers AT Pro35
Others: ATM 25, Sennheiser e604, MD421, Audix D2, SM57, Sennheiser MD 409, Electro-Voice 468
Is AT Pro 35 better that ATM 25 or viceverse?

Kel HM-1 on Toms?
Has anyone tried the HM-1 on toms. I record mainly blues and rock and the D2's are fine for rock but are not what I'm looking for with blues. I'm looking for a rounder more natural tone (almost jazz like)for blues and the HM-1's sound like they would fit the bill.

Tom, toms. who's using what?
Hey everybody, I'm running seven toms on my kit and am currently tracking them with dbx, DDP's and am pretty happy with the results I'm getting. I'm just curious. what kind kind of compressors are you using when you have seven(or more) toms to take care of? . .

A little trouble with toms
I believe I have managed to get a pretty decent drum sound/mix for my current project. It's sampled sounds, played by a real drummer. I'm quite happy with Kick, Snare, Hats and the Cymbals. My only trouble exists with the toms.

Mikeing toms from inside the drum for recording?
Hi, has anyone tried cutting small holes in the resonant heads of toms and sticking mikes in there? It works good for kicks and would lessen the problem of bleed. Just wondering if anyone's tried it before I go cutting holes in mine. Thanks, Don
