I need help with Phantom Power and Mics!
I'm looking at purchasing my first condenser microphone. I currently already own a mixer that I was planning on using with the mic that I buy, this mixer is an Alto ZMX52 however I'm having a big issue deciding which Microphone to buy due to phantom power. The mixer I currently have has an 18v Phantom power output and a lot of the microphones I'm looking at require a 48v supply.

48V phantom power through dynamic or other non 48V mics- concerns?
I have a Saffire USB 6 that has two inputs, but only one 48V switch for both ins. If only one of my mics is say an LDC, is there cause for concern with using non 48V mics on the other input, given that there is 48V at this second connection?

Best Tom Mics?
What mics give the toms a lot of flexibility from style to style?
Obviously won't record jazz toms the same as rock toms... what mic will give me a lot of room to move?
Thanks

Are there any studio-worthy clip-on tom mics?
I have been using Sennheiser 421's for tom mics since I started recording a few years ago. They're great mics for toms but they're sooooo big and sometimes hard to position depending on the drummer's setup.
