How do you all capture the sound of an electric guitar?
Plugins? Mic’d amp? I use a plugin called Bias Amp 2 for all amp and cab simulations which I quite like (although seems to sound nicer with my tele than Les Paul). I’ve also heard really good things about a plugin called amplitube but don’t have any experience with it.. What do other people use?
live recording vs. multitracking for acoustic guitar and vocal?
Hi, I'm a singer/songwriter recording my first demo at college and I'm getting some conflicting advice. I'm only recording acoustic guitar and vocal and wondered how best to do this, live with no headphone mix, to a click track and add drums later or should I still overdub? any advice welcome and much needed, cheers, TC
Tracking and Mixing Guitars
hi. I'm the most noobie here.
my problem is, when i track overdrive guitar(s) it always sound fine. but the problem lies when mixing them. it always ends up sounding too bright, not full enough like proper guitar sound. the hi-mids always annoy me.

Plugging guitar direct or micing?
Hello, I'm new to the recording world, but here's my problem. I have a Yamaha AW 16 G in my basement, and I get great clean sound out of my guitar just plugging my amp directly into the machine, but whenever I get distorted, the distortion sound I'm getting from the machine is FAR different from the sound out of my amp. Amy tips? Thanks alot!

tracking guitars from my control room
I want to play my guitar in my control room. I dont want my Amp anywhere near my control room. I would like to mic my amp in the farthest room in my house and play my guitar in the control room hearing what the mic picks up on my monitors. 3 part question: 1.Good Idea Or Bad Idea? 2. Can I do it like this?
