Hi guys, So I'm looking into buying a new preamp to go with my RODE K2. I have a Summit 2BA-221 which is ok but not the sound I'm looking for. Anyways my friend swears buy the 6176 even over the Avalon 737. But wanted to know what any of you think about the 6176 or the la-610 and how they are comparable. Does the la-610 have an EQ?

looking at the 6176, I'm sure some of you have it.
I want to use it to track some things, but also to use the 1176 as an insert on some of my mixes. It looks like all the controls are fixed values/rotary knobs on this box. But I'm not sure... is this case? this would make for nice easy recalls, if I used it in mixing.

Just wonder if anyone can recommend a mic that works well with a Universal Audio 6176? For example Neumann U87, Sony C800G etc. Is that a great combination? Thinking of buying a great microphone. Until now I have used some cheaper ones, not getting the sound that I want. So if anyone has any ideas please let me know.

Im on my way to purchase two unit for my studio as channel strips, I was wondering if they could be used as effective mastering tools ? If not what product within that price range could I purchase to master songs. Anything from Manley ? Thanks a lot in advanced!
