It's great to find this site. I just discovered it.

I see a lot of discussion about professional recording, mastering, and recording live music on computer - (which I used to do) but I can't find much about simply transferring vinyl LPs to CDRs. So here's my question.

I've done my research and i've sat in on other mastering engineers as they've mastered for CD, then applied different settings for wax.

What i need to know is, how much (db) limiting can i use on the mix before it will prove troublesome for the cutting process?

Being hip hop , all the spikes are kicks and snares.

I am currently looking for a good mastering house, preferably in Europe, to master classical recordings for vinyl. Are some of you guys in this business, and if not, could you name respectable places for this job?

I know we've gone over this muchly, and i've read lots of other threads, but i've been trying to get a 7" released but have had my job rejected by Musicol Recording and United Record Pressing, asking them to also master it for me.

hi ya sorry if this has been covered before i need some advice about vinyl mastering or pre vinyl mastering.

in order to get a decent sounding vinyl master is there anything that i need to do in my pre master before it gets sent to the cutters. or should the client just take his mixed version to the cutters and let them deal with it.

I have to make a decision concerning DA converters. I have a mastering studio in the netherlands and started cutting vinyl 3 years ago and cutting production lacquers since january.

I am looking for a Neumann SX74 cutting head does any know of one for sale?(working or no)

Where to find the best vinyl mastering money can buy?
Will a good VINYL mastering made in the USA do for Europe or
does it need another (harder, lower, higher) sound?

Please only reply if you have actual experience with this
