working with violin pickup,Eq and amplification
This is actually a problem concerning live violin amplification..My wife plays acoustic violin in our group (with modified zeta pickup) we have been having problems getting the a and d to cut thru I recently purchased a Kerry King 10 band Eq and whilst this helps add a bit of boast to the signal (I run all Eq on the Pa at 0 and boost up the Eq mids) There seems to be something missing.

AT4040 on solo violin
I just used the AT4040 on solo violin this evening (just finished 20 minutes ago and wasted no time telling the story...) With it directly over the neck and aimed towards the bridge, the sound is absolutely stunning. Realistic, lifelike and quite warm and friendly. I used this as my main and the MG M296 omnis out about 2 meters in my small/intimate studio.

Recording a solo violin in stereo or mono
Hi, I'm just starting out and want to exclusively record solo violin. I wondering if it's better to record it in stereo or mono? Considering that I'm just starting out, would it wiser to spend my dollars on a better quality mono setup or a lesser quality stereo setup. Thanks.

Recording a violin and drum duo
Hello all,
I would like to do next month a recording of "folk music"in a valley at the northwest of my province, Tucumán, Argentina.
This recording is very important for me because the musicians are now 80 years old and perhaps soon they will be no more playing.

Electric Violin, Important Question:
I have a ZETA electronic violin. It has the Jazz performance bridge, which is designed to work well for MIDI due the double piezo pick-ups per string. These pick-ups (per string) are mounted at approximately 90 degress from each other and arranged into a V shaped well, into which, the string sits.

Microphones for Violin
I am currently doing a project invovling violin right now and in past projects I was never happy with the violin sound I got. I have tried C451s but they always seem to have a harsh edge to them. The best I have come up with so far is using a 414 about 12" above the scroll angled towards the bridge. I would like to get that fat robust sound without the edge.
