Vocals Under Nuendo
Hi? I have yet anotha ? Under Nuendo after I record a vocal into the program, I compress the vocal with Nuendo Dynamics 2 plugin at 3:1:1, then I use the SPL De Esser to de ess at the maximum level, then I use the SPL Denoiser to denoise at setting A, am i going in the right direction to getting a "clear vocal"? Should I use BBE Sonic Maximizer to boost the vocal? If so wut settings?

preamps for vocals
Just wondering what you guys are using. I just realized today I've been using the same two for the last 9 years(Neve 1073 or Api 312). Once in a while I tried different things(Manley,Fearn,Avalon,Focusrite), but its funny I always come back to these two. I guess I was wondering if you had the same experience.

awsome vocals fxs
wassup everybody! i know this has been discussed many times but since vocals r such an important part of a mix i wanted 2 know how everyone's processing the vocals ? as 4 me, 1 of the things we do is use DMX 2 mix in -3cent n +3cent w/vox n then put 480 reverb on it, etc... which brings up this question. Is there an alternative to the DMX 4 doing this which will give equal quality results?

"S"ssss ON VOCALS
I love the sound that I am getting from my vocal mic now. BUT THE "S" sounds are killing me...
I know the first thing you might say is.. DE-EESE. I don't have one.. So what can I do to rid myself of this?

Double tracking vocals
Most of the songs I've written and recorded are done featuring instrumentation in mind
(since I can't sing to save my own mothers life). I play mostly Jazz/funk, R&B etc and my recordings consist heavily of 4 piece horn section keys, gits, drums with a horn usually playing the melodic portion of the jam.

Vintage Compressor for vocals
One of my favorite classic compressors is the GATES Sta-Level, and the GATES Level-Devil. These compressors are sha-wheat on lead vocals. The Level-Devil does a Exp/Comp thing that's hard to imitate with any other gear.
