Affordable subwoofers for studios
Are there subwoofers that are around $100 to $200 range that can be used for monitoring? I have a pair of Cakewalk MA-7A monitors and it has a sub-out RCA so I can connect a subwoofer to get better low end.

Subwoofer problem
I recently purchased a 10" KRK subwoofer to go along with my RoKit G2 Powered 8s. I had my 8s hooked up to my computer via a single 3.5 to left/right RCA cable. I attempted to use a similar cable with my sub. The speaker test worked fine, but on playback I have no sub.

question regarding location and calibration of a subwoofer system.
Hey all, sorry if this is a repeat of an oft asked question. I searched but could not find it.
I'm trying to find out about a good location for subwoofer(s) in my CR and how to calibrate it/them. My limited understanding is that time alignment can be an issue with them.
My current layout is:
Woofer
Woofer - a bass loudspeaker designed to reproduce low-frequency sound only. A woofer and subwoofer are usually the same type of loudspeaker, but their application (crossover frequency) differentiates them.

Upgrading my mixing monitoring chain. Subwoofer?
Right now I have
2)KRK Rokit RP5's(originals)
1)KRK Rokit RP10S Sub
Now, My budget is around $1500, could go higher.
And though I love the sub...do you feel its necessary to have a subwoofer?
Mid-Woofer?
I have been searching for information on Mid-Woofers..
Cant find much.
Im sure it just handles some of the midrange at a certain crossover, leaving lower frequencies to the subwoofer.

new subwoofer! *boing boing*
Hey,
I have an 8020A Left and Right pair.
I have been given a 7060B, but when I plugged it in, I hear a little, but not a lot. It says in the manual that this thing can deliver 85 <> of sound and to be careful, (implying it's loud!) so I was expecting a bit more rumble from this thing.
Am I doing something wrong?

Interesting Subwoofer configuration
Ok, so I was setting up on a show last night - and the system tech had the subs done in a way I've never come across before.

Help Hooking Up Subwoofer
I just received my subwoofer to add to my PA Setup. I want to make sure I hook it up right, as I have never done it before.
My Setup:
-Yamaha MG166cx Mixer
-Crown XLS Power Amp
-Yamaha SW118v Subwoofer
-DOD SR835 Crossover
I use Aux 1 on the board for the monitors, but I'm not sure how to hookup the sub, or the crossover. THanks in advance!
