Subwoofer

as of now i have my mbox hooked into my two monitors. the speakers that come on the new imacs are just crap and so i need to get some computer speakers. my two monitors could use a sub and I'm try to figure how i can incorporate a 2.1 system with the monitors. ( just the sub). bad idea?

How do you set up a subwoofer properly?

Ok. this is probably a dumb question, but where should I place my subwoofer in my room. As of now I have my subwoofer under my desk and centered. The one problem I have is that I still mix in too much bass. If I stand up and move around my room I hear a drastic increase in the sub. Should I walk around my room, find where I hear the sub the most, and place it there?

msp5 / auratones / subwoofer

Okay, so after thinking and reading alot, I think I'm going to stick with my msp5s for mixing. I feel like they're accurate - the only gripe I have is low-end.

I'm adding some auratones through a haefler amp for some hi-fi (low-fi) mix-checking.

I'd also like to add a subwoofer for just checking how it sounds down there once in a while. I won't actually mix with it on.

How to connect a subwoofer if you've only got two outs

I have a pair of Genelec 1029A active monitors and am considering buying the subwoofer to go with them. But how should I connect it? I have a Behringer MX 2642A desk and an Audiowerk 2 card. At the moment the two outs from the card go into the desk group ins. How would the signal get split into the "bass" bit and the "rest"? Where do the cables go?
