I just acquired a Konnekt24D, it's a serious upgrade for my studio and I thought everything is going to be bronze perfect (?).
my experience in recording is not vast and I am very impressed with the sound quality of this card. but still... every now and then I get a pop or a crackle, I tried a lot of different configurations and nothing seems to eliminate the problem.
Am I expecting too much ?
I get the pops with vocals, and acoustic instruments (using m-audio Nova and Audio-Technica, can't remember the model, black and not very expensive).
with direct TS jack for bass and electric guitar I still get them but not as much as with the acoustic recordings.
any tips and recommendations would be highly appreciated.

I do it all the time. A stock Dell P4 with 1 Gig RAM, a pair of Delta44 cards, running Reaper. I've run as many as 26 or 28 tracks I think. When I got up that high, I was having popping and clicking on one song, but when I installed the latest Reaper upgrade, it played fine after that. I didn't change anything else, so I assume the software architecture was improved to handle the audio and effects better, more efficiently. Andy

the links were very useful, I got some tips I didn't try yet but I have some possible solutions. I did have all the updated drivers and all, but they were talking about additional firewire hardware connected and ethernet or wifi working and interfering...
can it also be that I have poor quality mics ? will it pop and crack ? or just give me a not very superior sound recording ?

I wish I could tell you more about how to track down the source. I got the M-Audio Delta 44 cards due to the fact that they are "old-school" tech, therefore proven and all bugs worked out. I also have a Mackie 1202 VLZ board. Not the pro. I figure, never buy first generation tech if you want it to work flawlessly. Let others pay for troubleshooting. Just my .02! Andy

It looks like there are known problem with Konneckt drivers which lead to pops and crackles (you shouldn't be getting those in your recording). Check out the various links and the Konneckt web site for updated drivers, patches, etc.
