I've just started using Kontakt for MIDIs. In regard to the samples it comes with, how should I treat them when mixing?
Do they need the same EQ treatment as normal audio files? In other words, should I treat my Kontakt sample bass guitar as if it were any other audio track-recorded bass guitar?

Any guidance would be most sincerely appreciated.

A Lot of samples are designed to sound big when played alone for the impressiveness factor; consequently, they often need a bit of carving to get them to sit right. Just pay careful attantion to the frequency space they're eating up and you should be fine.
