Hi!
I am in the prosess of buying a nice front end to my MOTU setup, and instead of buying a load of pre's, I thought I'd buy a nice mixer which will be much more versatile as well for mixing, routing etc...
Had a look at an AMEK BCII at Funky Junk in London. Looks nice, but it was still in parts for an overhaul.
Any thoughts about the AMEK or any other sim. mixer for a front end?

I was in the same boat this summer, and made the decision to pick up a Midas Venice 240. Now I wish I'd opted for a 320 (always, always, always get more inputs than you think you need).
Anyway, the Midas has opened up the sonic window that I was looking for, and it's so nice to be able to really get my hands on the EQ knobs.
