I have been using the Portico for a few weeks now, and have really been impressed.

The signal chain has been Portico - Speck EQ - Distressor - PT HT192

Recorded Vocals, Choir, Bass, Acoustic and Electric Guitars, and it shines on all of it. I like the sheen for guitar's, and also for BV's to give a slightly different flavour from the lead vox.

I was a bit sceptical before I used them. The price, and power supply scared me. but. they sound teriffic, and if you want a reliable pre, with a world class sound, then I highly recommend them. (Price aint bad either)

Cant wait to hear the rest of the range. The PreEQ looks really good, as does the dual compressor.
