Hello - Brand new here.
I do presentations and workshops that I now record with a laptop and plantronics usb mic into Audacity. I then convert these into mp3 files for my students and participants.
The recordings come out really good... but I am a walker and can't do much walking tied to the computer... And the mic I am using also has an earpiece which I do not need...
I would like to go wireless - get just a head (over ear) microphone and also have the capacity to add another mic for the participants during the Q&A.
Someone mentioned to me I would need a Behringer preamp or mixer to be able to do this ?
Also mics - I would prefer wireless back of the head type tube or arm for me... For the questions askers I also need a mic -
What equipment do I need to do this... and about how much would this cost for a decent setup?

They have what you need, at an affordable budget was really good quality for your purposes. You'll still need a mixer to combine your microphone along with your audience question microphone, such as that wonderful Beringer $60 thingamajig 2 input mixer. And into your recorder of some sort.
Anything less expensive won't be worth it. And I can't imagine how your recordings with your current set up are "coming out good"? Nothing like that comes out good or anything anybody would want to listen to for an extended period of time. But maybe it's not the sound of your words but the content of your passion?

Two wireless mics, one hand-held and one a "stick on the ear in the face type" or "micro boom" I think.
Sure make some quality wireless stuff
As do Sennheiser.
Don't buy stuff from salespeople who can say Behringer without wincing.
