I am going to be recording a three piece band drums, piano and Stand up bass I will probably use a stereo pair of AKG 451's on the Piano, for the drums AKG D112 kick, Sennheiser 421 toms, Stereo AKG 414's overhead, SM81 HiHat, SM57 Snare but I am not to sure on the stand up bass. I was thinking a stereo pair one at the fret board and the other off axis of the sound holes to not get an airy sound. Perhaps a U87 but I am not sure if the large daiaphram would be good for this application. Perhaps the KM 184? What are your thoughts for the Upright base? Thanks in advance.
