I’m about to start work on an album but I want the best quality, over the years I’ve built a little home studio but I’m a rapper. I’m not a producer/engineer.
I have a small understanding of the technical side of recording and it’s so frustrating when I recorded something really good then I screw it up by mixing it wrong.
I’ve thought about saving the money and getting myself into a real recording studio but if I can do it myself then I’ll be saving money. Plus my home studio won't be all in vain
So I need your help.
What I’ve done is recorded a verse from a song I’m doing called ‘Where Did We Go Wrong’.
I’ve uploaded it to soundclick.com
(It’s not mush; I just recorded it quick for this post)
It's in three parts..
The Beat,
The Main Accapella vocals
The Accapella Backing vocals
I haven’t done anything to the files (Noise Reduction, Reverb so on and so on)
Could you download each file and mix it for me and make it sound good then tell me what I have to do to get the same results.
--- EXAMPLE ---
First add Noise Reduction to the main/backing vocals (what settings was used)
Then run main vocals threw an EQ (what settings was used)
So on and so on
Software I use ‘Audio Studio Generation 6 DeLuxe’
BBE Sonic Maximizer V1.0.0.1 Plugin
Waves Diamond Bundle.v4.05 Plugin
All I want is a kind of template, a guide to mixing my songs.
I would really appreciate any help in any form!

As has been said, go search and read the archives on topics that you need help on and hope that other people were more specific in their subject title postings so that you are able to find what you are looking for. Poke your nose in the Home Recording forum in the Forum Index and spend the next few weeks reading so that you are able to ask intelligent, specific questions. That is how and where you should start...

Okay....
SithAngel, excuse the sterile, sometimes insensitive responses you can recieve around here, I think sometimes we can forget that we all started out not knowing how to verbalize our thoughts because we didn't really know.
But in one respect they are right, so here's what I believe you should do; and just for the record I produce and record primarily Urban Gospel(Hip-Hop, Rap, R&B, Neo-Soul, etc.) and have been doing so for a few years now out of my project studio. But in order for us to help you we need to know more about your process, beginning to end and how the results sound; i.e. muffled, strident, low volume, etc. You get this from comparing yours to a comperable commercial track. Keep track of your settings throughout your process for all phases, you should be doing this anyway if not get into the practice, and these are the types of things we need.
My mixing your tracks is just that, we learn from our mistakes better than someone doing it for us.

I would really appreciate any help in any form! First you must
First you must learn how to be very specific when posting what your subject title is. "help me please" is very non-specific and doesn't help others that will be using the search engine in the future. Please take the time to rename your posting title to something more meaningful and specificly related to your questions.
Second, If you really want help from people and to learn something, it usually works like this: You ask intelligent specific questions and you'll get back specific answers with some of them being very specific. Take the time to search the archives and read about what you are interested in or have questions about and learn. Don't expect people to provide full out consulting services on your problems for free because your only likely to get your moneys worth.
Third, if you really care and want the best quality, then you need to go to a real studio with a real seasoned and experienced engineer.
Fourth, Trolls are not welcome here...
