Hello All,

Does anyone know of a device that does power conditioning/cleaning AND is a UPS? I know you can get a UPS and then plug a power conditioner into it, but I am curious to know if there is one out there that does both in one box.

There are many UPS's out there that condition the power also. Most of the larger floor standing units along with the larger rack mounts from APC, Tripp Lite, Best and others will do what you ask. It's the conversion from AC to DC and vice versa that actually strips the noise from the power. Davedog could explain it far better than I can but it's the transformers that convert and clean the juice.

I have (2) a rackmount for the PC's and rack gear and a floor unit for guitar amps and keyboards.

Just be aware these units are heavy and expensive. These are not the little UPS's you plug your PC into in the office.

You should check out the websites of the companies above or better yet give them a call and explain what your needs are.

Another option is to contact a recycling center that deals with electronics . Most will have some large UPS's removed from data centers and schools that were upgraded but the units still work. Most only require batteries and maybe a fan replacement. The rest of the components in them just don't wear out. A full set of batteries for most 1500kva units run around $150.

Good luck in your search

Thanks for the information guys.

This may seem like a silly question but I will ask it:

Is there a difference say the Monster Pro 2500 and a Furman 8x? Specifically I am talking about the specs they claim to have.

The furman does "Noise Filtering" and surge protection stuff, but the Monster actually has separate "Analog filter" and "Digital Filter". What is the difference between the Analog and Digital filter and are both equivalent to the Furman "Noise Filtering"?
