Okay so i am new to the recording business...I'm 16...been playing music for 12 yrs so i kinda know what I'm doin on the guitar recordings just not so much on the vocal tracks...should i record vocals in my (6'X6')closet where i have blankets on the walls an carpet on the floor, or should i record vocals in my (12'X6') bathroom...i have a john mayer style of singing and i sing into a mxl 990 condenser mic...thank you in advance..

First, let me say, you're a credit to your generation! You type/speak intelligibly and you ask legitimate, topical questions. Thank you!
Second, be cautious of rooms where the dimensions in any of the 2 directions are identical. in a 15x15x8 room, you're going to have some issues with standing waves, cancellation and other wonderful phasing artifacts. Having clutter in the room will help this but may create other problems of its own.
If you do record in a square room, make sure you don't set up in the middle of the room or you're asking for sound troubles. Also, if possible, place some sound deadening devices (blankets over mic stands) behind the mic to help at least avoid a lot of standing waves in the frequency range that most affects the voice.
Put up some samples of stuff and we'll try to help where we can.
