yes, it is good for guitar recording! But so are most products out there...one of teh benefits of the 428 is that in it's control panel is a tuner! Yes, you heard it right! You get to plug right in...tune up and then record! How convenient eh?!
There's a slight latency on it so if you don't mind a slight delay then it's cool...it's not enough to bother you when playing but noticeable.

I echo everything Opus says, I love the 428, but for $400, it is not much of a bargain. I have seen it at Guitar Center or Mars (one or the other, I can't remember) for $425 brand-new with a warranty!
